The role of Senior Software Developer:
The Software Developer is a technical position within the IT team and reports to the Software Development Manager. The role is responsible for the design and development of software solutions at TR Group and its subsidiary companies, including TR Driver Training and TR Group Australia. The role is varied, including new applications, APIs, automation, and refactoring existing code. You will be working across full stack in a Microsoft-centric environment, primarily C# / .NET Core, though there may be opportunity to specialise in a particular area of software development.
The team as a whole is growing, and with that we need some serious talent in our IT team to help support the growth of the business, and the future ahead of us. As a developer you will be working closely with the wider IT team to create IT solutions used across TR Group companies. Technical talent is just the start. We are looking for someone with the following job experience up their sleeve:
- 3+ years of progressively responsible coding experience in a mid-size, multi-location, enterprise or larger;
- have strong interest in, and experience with, DevOps, automation and Agile/Scrum project delivery methodology;
- have experience with cloud (Azure) development and deployment;
- have solid experience with:
- .NET Framework (C# and VB.NET) and .NET Core / .NET 5
- XML and JSON
- SQL Server (T-SQL) and developing database-heavy applications, to include writing complex stored procedures
- DevOps / Git and CI/CD
- have experience in one of more of the following areas:
- Developing RESTful APIs
- Service oriented architectures
- Docker containers
- have an interest and ability to learn other coding languages and technologies
- possess a keen eye and an appreciation and interest for product design, UX and usability;
