Holcim (New Zealand) Limited is a leading supplier of cement,
aggregates, ready mixed concrete and lime.
The nature of its products and customer
operations means timely product supply is at the forefront
of Holcim service. Recently, Holcim secured a
new contract and needed to act quickly to organise and begin
supply.
Holcim Aggregates Manager, Garth Dixon, explained "The tight
timeframe and specific need for lightweight trucks to maximise load
capacity was a challenge on this project. Having a flexible vehicle
arrangement to account for fluctuating volumes was also a
requirement. TR was committed from the start and met our
needs with professionalism and courtesy. They also delivered on
time, which was critical."
The Holcim NZ Challenge
Challenge (brief by Holcim to TR
Group)
- Holcim New Zealand Limited needed to cart aggregates between a
quarry in Wellsford and concrete plant in Whangarei.
- Flexibility, reliability and lightweight trucks were required
to ensure the right quantities were supplied within set
timeframes.
Solution (presented to Holcim by TR
Group)
- TR Group provided two identical 6x4 Mack Tipping Trucks.
Plus 4-axle Tipping Trailers to their exact
specifications.
- All gear was supplied at short notice from our fleet and in
the timeframe specified.
- Given the fluctuating volumes of aggregate TR worked with
Holcim New Zealand to arrange a term and rate that met their
requirements.
