We are looking for a new team member to join our IT team as an Application Support Specialist. You will be responsible for supporting our internal applications across TR Group.

This is an intermediate level technical position and would suit someone insatiably curious about how things work and enjoy developing deep knowledge of software applications.

About the role:

  • Responsible for assisting with operation, support and monitoring of applications used at TR Group
  • Work with internal teams to support new internally developed software releases at TR Group
  • Serve as the primary coordination point for PAAS releases across TR Group and 3rd parties for releases such as Dynamics F&O and Dynamics CRM
  • Produce support documentation for TR systems (internal and external)
  • Assist the QA team with UAT testing when required
  • Assist with 1st level support queries relating to in-house software applications/serve as an escalation point (level 2 and overflow) for the TR Group helpdesk
  • Under the guidance of the IT Infrastructure Manager, build, deploy, operate, and maintain application monitoring systems utilising tools such as PRTG, Grafana and Azure native services
  • Manage support tickets for TR internal applications by gathering technical information to ensure the technology team has sufficient information to investigate efficiently
  • Perform operational tasks across internal TR systems and externally hosted applications such as setting up new users or producing reports

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • most likely have 5+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on technical experience in a mid-size, multi-location business'
  • have broad general knowledge of modern enterprise technologies, to include servers, networks, storage, security, cloud services, and end-user compute (desktops/laptops/mobile)
  • have good knowledge of software application design and implementation,  standard software life cycle practices
  • have a solid understanding of Powershell and be comfortable writing common operationally oriented scripts
  • have a solid understanding of ITIL (or comparable ITSM framework)
