We are looking for a new team member to join our IT team as a Systems Engineer. This is an intermediate level technical position. You will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of computing systems (client and server), networks, and related technologies at TR Group.
About the role:
- Responsible for the implementation, operation, maintenance, performance, security, reliability, and availability of: on-premise and cloud compute and storage environments (primarily Microsoft Azure and AWS), LAN, WAN, and WLAN network and end-user Standard Operating Environment and associated equipment as well as build and deploy.
- Serve as an escalation point (level 2 and overflow) for our helpdesk team and associated functions
- Work across a technology stack that includes a variety of modern, best-of-breed technologies, including Microsoft Azure (and associated products), Microsoft 365 (and associated products, e.g., Intune), Cisco Umbrella, Meraki, Mitel, Veeam, and VMware
- Proactively monitor and analyse the environment (systems, networks, logs, etc) so that we are better able to identify and resolve potential problems
- Proactively manage critical incidents from start through to closure, including post-incident reviews and implementation of corrective actions and improvements
- Manage and participate, as required, in the delivery of 24x7x365 on-call support model
- Configure and maintain network and system security.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Most likely have 5+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on technical experience in a mid-size, multi-location business'
- Have broad general knowledge of modern enterprise technologies, to include servers, networks, storage, security, cloud services, and end-user compute (desktops/laptops/mobile)
- Have a strong technical understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
